Types of Hair Dye(hair color and highlight)

hair color and highlight
The use of hair dye is getting more popular among people nowadays. Increasing demand for fashionable hair has given rise to the availability of many different types of hair dye and coloring in the market today. Commonly, they are all classified into four different groups. They consist of temporary dye, semi-permanent dye, deposits only and permanent dye.
Temporary dye comes in the form of shampoos, rinses, gels, sprays, and foams. Typically, this kind of dye is brighter and more vibrant than semi-permanent and permanent hair color. It is great for some funky hair styling before raving happening parties. It can usually be washed off in a single shampooing of the hair.
Semi-permanent hair dye can be washed off after several hair washes, usually about 4-5 sessions of shampoos. As the pigment molecules of semi-permanent dye is smaller than temporary dye, they are able to penetrate the hair shaft partially. Hair dyes under this group contain none or very low levels of peroxide or ammonia, and are therefore safer for damaged or fragile hair.
Deposits only contains an alkaline agent such as ethanolamine and sodium carbonate. It does not contain ammonia. The concentration of hydrogen peroxide in the developer of this type of dye is lower than the one used with a permanent hair color. As such, it cannot remove the natural pigment of the hair, and is not able to color hair to a lighter shade. However, it is much less damaging to the hair then the permanent one.
Permanent hair dye contains ammonia as an alkalizing agent, with a highly concentrated developer and lighteners to remove the original hair pigmentation and to bring out the color of the new hair shade.
Hair dyeing is meant for cosmetic beautification purposes. Different people color their hair for different reasons. Among the common reasons are to look younger by returning aging gray hair to its previous color, to look more fashionable or attractive by changing hair color to a shade that is considered trendy, or to return hair to its original color after chemicals (such as tints, relaxers and sun bleaching) have discolored or spoiled it.
Not many people are aware or concerned about the contents inside these products, let alone checking it and verifying its safety prior to its application. In addition to that, there is limited material or information for laypersons in the present market to highlight and address safety in these issues.
